    Statement of Philosophy::

     

        The STEM classroom should be an integrated interdisciplinary approach to 21st century learning and problem solving.

        Engineering and design provides middle school learners with an engaging and enriching learning atmosphere.

        STEM must unveil real world problem solving through exploration, inquiry, and hands on design.

        Learning should entail collaboration, research and creativity.

        Technology should be understood as the tools that make life easier.

        Communication skills are a necessary skill to be a member of a team and must be cultivated during middle school. 

        Skills assessment in the STEM setting must be multifaceted and experiential.
