As we continue to provideonline access to student report cards and interim reports, there have beenseveral questions that have arisen. If you are experiencing problems, checkhere for an answer first. If you don't find the answer to your question, emailit to Ms. Zimmerman at demarestreporting@nvnet.org. She will answer your question.

 

Q: What is the web sitefor parent access?

A: http://parents.genesisedu.com/demarest

 

Q: Why can't I log in,even though the site is supposed to be available?

A: If too many peoplehit the site at the same time, it causes the equivalent of a traffic jam. Justrefresh your web browser and try again.

 

Q: Why can't I see thewhole report card?

A: You may need toscroll down in order to view all grades.

 

Q: Why haven't I gottena user name and password sent to me?

A: There are manyreasons why you may not have gotten your log in credentials. The message mayhave been sent to your SPAM or JUNK folder in your email. You may haveinadvertently deleted the message. There may be a typographical error in theemail address the district has for you.

 

Q: What should I do if Ididn't get log in information?

A: If you did not get anemail with log in information, send an email to Ms. Zimmerman at demarestreporting@nvnet.org. as soon as possible. She will investigate theproblem and get you the information you need to access your child(ren)'s data.  Please include the name(s) and grade(s) of your children to fascilitate the process.

 

Q: What if I forgot myuser name?

A: Your user name is theemail address you provided to the district.  If you are still stuck, email demarestreporting@nvnet.org.

 

Q: What if I forget mypassword?

A: Email demarestreporting@nvnet.org and it will be sent to you.

 

Q: What if I want tochange my user ID or password?

A: Your user ID must bean email address. If you would like to change the address you use, please emaildemarestreporting@nvnet.org.and give her your new email, along with thename(s) and grade(s) of your child(ren) . To change your password, email demarestreporting@nvnet.org.and Ms. Zimmerman will set your account toforce a password change.

 

Q: What will I see whenI log in?

A: DMS Parents: When youlog in you will see two tabs on the upper left part of your screen. The firsttab is HOME, and shows your child(ren)'s picture and schedule. If school is insession, you will see the current class highlighted on the schedule. The secondtab is GRADING. Under the grading tab, you will see the current report card forthe child you are viewing. To view an interim report, click the blue link abovethe report card.

 

A: LLE and CRS Parents: You willsee only one tab for your students, since they do not have a schedule generatedin Genesis. The page that will open for your child is the current report card.However, the LLE report card is two pages, so you must use the blue arrows tomove between the first and second pages.

 

Q: How do I view myother child?

A: On either the HOME orGRADING screen, you can move between your children by using the drop down menuat the top of the screen. It is titled Select Student: and is inthe upper center of the page. You can select alternate children from this menu.

 

Q: What if I don't haveaccess to a computer, or cannot get the information I want to see?

A: Report cards andInterim reports will continue to be available in the main office of all Demarest schools. Simply come to the school during theday, and one of the secretaries will print what you need. We request that youcall ahead before coming in andlet us know to expect you. This way, we can have the information ready when youarrive.

 

Q: Will I be able toview my child's test, quiz and homework grades using this system?

A: Currently, teachersuse a variety of applications to record student grades. There is no access tothat data through this system.

 

Q: Can I view grades formy children at County Road School using this system?

A: Currently, this isonly in place for students in Demarest Middle and Luther Lee Emerson Schools.If that should change in the future, you will receive an email notifying you ofthe change.

 

Q: Why is Parent Accesssometimes unavailable?

A: During the school year,there will be times we need to close the portal. The majority of closures willbe during the two weeks leading up to a reporting period. This allows time forthe teachers to enter grades and comments. There may be other times the portalis closed for maintenance. It will also be closed for periods of time over thesummer while the middle school generates student schedules. In the event of aclosure, we will post the date the portal is expected to reopen.
